New Simplified Underwriting Guidelines
We are pleased to announce that MetLife is now offering customers the highest life cover available in the Gulf without any medical check-ups. This is part of the new underwriting guidelines that we have implemented to simply and improve the entire customer experience.
So, what’s new?
Blood Test: Applicants no longer need to fast before having their blood taken for the test.
Cover for non-resident: A non-resident applicant with an ongoing financial interest in any of the five Gulf countries (UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait) can obtain a life cover of up to USD 2 million and will be eligible for all modes of premium payment (annual, semi-annual, quarterly or monthly).
Body Mass Index (BMI): The applicant no longer needs to take the medical examination even in case of high BMI. Instead, the premium would be assigned basis the height and weight declaration in the application form.
Cover for unemployed spouse: The unemployed spouse is eligible for a higher insurance cover without requesting proof of insurance from the employed spouse.
Higher coverage across all age brackets: Applicants up to age 40 are eligible for significantly higher coverage than before.
Reduced medical examination: The number of tests required has been reduced by 50% and now the applicant will have to do only 13 basic tests without chest X-Ray and resting ECG reports.
Increased Non-Medical Limits: Applicants from different age groups are now eligible for higher coverage as below without submitting any lab or other medical examinations.
18-45: USD 850,000
46-55: USD 500,000
